Tomorrow I depart via train for Vienna. I am excited to see and race in this city. I am not excited about lugging all of my luggage and bike case through an eight hour train ride w/three stops.
On Sunday my European adventure comes to an end. I fly out of Vienna back to the good old US of A. But I will only have a couple days at home before I pack up and fly out to Portland for Nationals the...

Mix it Up.
I have to admit I’ve become quite the mixer since coming to Europe. Now I don’t like fizzy water as much as the next American, but you end up getting quite hooked on it here. I still can’t stand it plain (and it’s the absolute worst when they hand it out during or after races - it burns when you pour it over your head!) but I do enjoy taking some gas aqua and mixing in some...

Bundesliga is done. But more racing to come.
The German Bundesliga season ended this past weekend. I didn’t race in the final at Gelsenkirchen, but ALZ performed well and finished the season ranked fourth overall (one of the best finishes ever for the club). From what I have been told it was an exciting and fast race. The race doubled as German Sprint National Championships (hey, why don’t we have an elite draft-legal sprint...

Short Break.
After racing for a solid five weeks with a double on the final week I decided not to travel to Poland and race the Poznan Premium European Cup this past weekend. I figured it was prime time for a short mid-season break especially after I was told I was designated back-up for our final Bundesliga race the following weekend (Olympian Sander Berk from the Netherlands and James Elvery will be racing...
The Good.
Fact - a tour de france rider burns and consumes what amounts to 33 McDonald’s cheeseburgers during one’s day stage.
Naturally somebody is up to the challenge.
And that somebody was Nate. Quote - “33 will be tough, but I can easily do 18!” And it was on. 33 cheeseburgers in 2 hours. And he’s out after consuming 8 in 10 minutes. He struggled to eat 6 in the next hour...
